A sprawling and deeply disturbing criminal investigation centered at a residence in the Olney neighborhood of Philadelphia has widened, with authorities now linking at least five missing women to the property. The expanding multi-agency probe, which began during the summer, continues to reveal alarming details regarding events that allegedly transpired inside the home over a span of more than a decade.
The latest individual identified in connection with the investigation is Nicole Fusaro, who disappeared in 2018 at the age of 27. Relatives confirmed to reporters that they have recently met with Philadelphia police detectives regarding her case, marking a painful development in a search for answers that has lasted for several years.
A family member shared grief over the recent revelations, describing Fusaro as a kindhearted and beautiful person who deserved a far better fate than what occurred. The family emphasized that she will forever remain loved and deeply missed by her relatives and close friends as they await further answers from law enforcement.
At the epicenter of the investigation is 44-year-old Eugene Horsch, whose home located in the 400 block of West Chew Avenue has been subject to intense forensic scrutiny since June. Horsch was taken into custody earlier in the summer and remains held in federal detention on firearms-related charges while local and federal investigators sift through a mountain of potential evidence tied to his residence.
The property itself has yielded a troubling array of materials, pointing to complex and potentially dangerous activities on site. Authorities conducting exhaustive searches of the Chew Avenue location recovered an extensive cache of evidence, including various illegal drugs, firearms, and hazardous chemicals, alongside a 55-gallon drum that had been hooked up directly to water lines.
The sheer volume of digital material seized from the residence has necessitated significant federal assistance. Sources indicated that the Federal Bureau of Investigation has expanded the deployment of specialized agents assigned to the case to assist local detectives in processing and authenticating more than one million video files recovered from the property.
Among the other women connected to the Chew Avenue residence are Gabrielle Amarando and Maribel Fresses. Amarando vanished in 2012 when she was 22 years old, while Fresses went missing in 2018 at the age of 27. Both had remained the subject of long-standing unsolved missing persons cases in the region.
Investigators disclosed last month that both Amarando and Fresses were identified within videos and visual media recovered during searches of the property. Authorities stated that the two women appeared to be deceased in the recordings; however, despite intensive efforts, their physical remains have not yet been located.
The connection between the home and the disappearance of Blair Tonzelli initially brought public attention to the location. Tonzelli, who was 35 years old when she vanished in 2023, was the first missing woman publicly named in relation to the investigation.
When law enforcement officers originally apprehended Eugene Horsch, he was accompanied by an individual who possessed an identification card bearing Tonzelli’s name. According to police reports, that companion informed investigators that Horsch had provided the identification card to her.
Another woman tied to the residence is Amy McHale, who was 44 years old when she was last seen alive in 2016. Following the initial public reports regarding Horsch's arrest and the search of the home, McHale's family stepped forward to inform investigators that she was last seen at the very same West Chew Avenue house.
McHale had a direct personal connection to the household, having previously been married to Eugene Horsch's late father, Raymond Horsch. The elder Horsch has also emerged as a pivotal figure in the unfolding criminal probe, as detectives trace the timeline of activities that occurred at the property prior to his death.
Investigators have reportedly uncovered deeply graphic digital evidence implicating the elder Horsch. Sources revealed that among the recovered video recordings is footage that allegedly depicts Raymond Horsch strangling an unidentified woman to death, underscoring the severe nature of the offenses that took place inside the home.
The entire investigation was initially triggered on June 19 after a federal park ranger observed a suspicious black BMW. That initial observation set off a chain of inquiries that quickly escalated into a comprehensive search of the Olney house, ultimately uncovering the massive cache of recordings, hazardous materials, and firearms.
City officials and law enforcement leadership are currently preparing to share additional information regarding the progress of the multi-jurisdictional inquiry. Philadelphia Police Commissioner Kevin Bethel noted that an official update on the status of the investigation could be released in the coming days, though specific scheduling details for a formal press briefing have not yet been announced.
As federal and local agencies continue the monumental task of cataloging evidence and reviewing over a million video recordings, the findings represent a major turning point for the families of the missing women. Investigators continue working methodically to assemble a comprehensive timeline and determine the full extent of the alleged crimes tied to the West Chew Avenue property.
