### CNN Analyst Reports President Trump's Approval Rating Plummets to Record Low

In a recent CNN broadcast, the network's senior data analyst Harry Enten revealed stunning new polling data indicating that President Donald Trump's approval rating has reached an all-time low. The analysis, which Enten presented on August 30, 2026, paints a dire picture of the president's popularity, with no signs of recovery in sight.

Enten, known for his in-depth analysis of political polling, emphasized the gravity of the situation, stating, "This is a president who is stuck on empty, and it is just... I mean just look at this. It's just consistently low; It's stuck on empty, stuck on neutral. Whatever type of gasoline analogy you want to use."

The data Enten referenced showed that Trump's net approval rating has been steadily declining over the past few months. On May 28, 2026, the rating stood at minus-20 points, dropping to minus-19 points two months prior and minus-21 points a month ago. The current figures indicate that Trump is struggling to gain traction with the American public.

According to a new Reuters/Ipsos poll, Trump's approval rating has plummeted to 33%, with his disapproval rating climbing to a staggering 65%. The survey also revealed that only 13% of Americans strongly approve of Trump's performance, while 49% strongly disapprove. This stark contrast between approval and disapproval ratings underscores the depth of the president's unpopularity.

The poll also delved into the political divide, revealing that while 82% of Republicans approve of Trump's job performance, the intensity of that support is weaker than expected. Only 35% of Republicans said they strongly approve of the president, indicating that his base may not be as solid as it once was.

In addition to the approval rating data, the poll showed Democrats holding a slight edge on the generic ballot. 35% of Americans said they would vote for a Democratic candidate, compared to 29% who would choose a Republican. Another 16% of respondents were unsure of their choice, and an additional 16% said they do not plan to vote.

The polling results are particularly concerning for the Republican party, as they suggest a potential loss of momentum heading into the 2026 elections. The poll surveyed 1,215 U.S. adults between August 21 and August 24, with a margin of error of plus or minus 2.9 percentage points.

Despite the bleak polling data, Trump has continued to maintain an optimistic outlook on his presidency. On Thursday, he posted a graphic on his social media platform, Truth Social, ranking U.S. presidents, with himself at the top labeled "Greatest." The next tier included the likes of Abraham Lincoln, George Washington, Franklin D. Roosevelt, Thomas Jefferson, and Andrew Jackson.

The discrepancy between Trump's self-assessment and the polling data reflects the growing divide between the president and the American public. As the country approaches the 2026 elections, the question remains whether Trump's approval rating will continue to decline or if he can find a way to regain the support of the American people.

In the meantime, the latest polling data serves as a stark reminder of the challenges President Trump faces as he navigates the final years of his presidency. With no sign of recovery in his approval rating, the road ahead appears to be fraught with difficulties for the incumbent president.
